Spare Change News - vendor authenticity

Registered Spare change News vendors always wear an orange 2008 badge. We have an ongoing problem with scammers who will offer you a copy of SCN but not give you one after you pay. This is a problem particularly in Porter Square, Davis Square and around Hynes Convention Center. It is not fair to you or the vendors!

Please make sure to buy Spare Change News from registered vendors only. Ask to see their photo badges, and help us support our vendors’ honest work.

Spare Change News is produced and sold by the Homeless Empowerment Project (HEP) to their vendors for 25 cents per issue. These vendors then sell the papers to you for a dollar and keep all of the profits, often earning their living by doing so.
