Owens Corning (OC) Based in Toledo, Ohio, has manufacturing facilities in more than 25 countries and 165 distribution centers. It's a $5 billion market leader in building-materials systems and composites solutions known for its innovative portfolio of products—it invented glass fiber and glass-fiber insulation over 50 years ago. The Responsibility Assignment Matrix, also known as RACI matrix is used to give a description of the various sharing roles in completing tasks or deliverables, which are required for a business process. RACI is an acronym standing for Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed.

Simply like any other mechanisms of the supply chain, the strategy of operations is associated to how dynamic it is. The product life cycle is however considered to be a key driver. As a product demand rises and then decreases, companies have the capability of moving from make to stock and from make to reorder with an aim of reducing inventory risks associated while ensuring its availability at a price which is competitive (Cohen, Shoshanna 2004).

Looking at the Responsible aspect of this analysis and relating it to the dynamic for change at the Owens corning for example, the workers are expected to be responsible while they achieve their tasks. There are however others who were delegated with an aim of offering assistance to the work being provided. 'Accountability' whereby each variable is accountable for only a specified task available. The consulted aspect requires that the individuals considered as subject matters be taken into consideration (Cooper, 2005).

Looking at the consulted aspect, counsel was sought from different individuals such as from Sue Hartfield. Finally, the informed aspect the individuals are kept up to date on the various tasks, which are completed as required (Cooper, 2005). Embracing technology by Owen's Corning would assist it in changing its mindset about the existing technology. Technology brings out a clearer explanation of a fit for purpose, enabling an organization to participate at high levels of the management. At Owen's Corning, technology enabled the development of goals that are more strategic and larger. Today, people avoid the use of technology as a result of the challenges that are associated to it.
