I believe love is one of the most overwhelming emotions an individual can have for one another. Love has the ability to make you or break you, but everybody is willing to take that chance. Someone people may say you should never change who you are for someone, but I beg to differ. If changing is for the better than you should, but also the compassion you show towards someone can also change him or her.

Love has all different ways of working; it may make you happy or even sad because you are not happy with the big picture. Love has its negative affects though; if someone gets heart broken they can never be the same again, fearing that the same is going to happen to the next relationship that comes around. Yes, this happened to me, being left with no questions answered changed me. It left me hard to trust someone and vulnerable, but with the true love and compassion shown to me by someone who truly cares for me brightened my eyes to know its not always going to be so gloomy. Being left in the dark is a negative way love can change you, but it proves compassion or lack of it will leave you different.

Another way compassion can change a life is by changing yourself. Of course you don't go to drastic measures just to impress someone, I'm talking about the little things. If you want someone to stay in your life you have to work with him or her, like a job you cant just quite. In my relationship I realized not everything is rainbows and butterflies, I had to prove myself that I'm willing to work to keep love alive. If you're neglecting to show anyone loves it will drive them away and then affect them and the relationship you hold with them. Just like in Les Misèrables, Valjean had to change himself and the way he lived to show how much
