Which part of the body does the cancer affect? What are some warning signs? Are there any treatments? Approximately how many people are affected with this type of cancer? Are certain people more at risk than others? Is it more prevalent in certain areas of the world?

The cancer I chose to write about is pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is caused by both cells known as exocrine and endocrine that form tumors in the pancreas. Pancreas is an organ that responsible for producing insulin that helps balance the amount of sugar intake. Exocrine tumors are the most common type of pancreatic cancer that is also known as adenocarcinoma. People and researchers have labeled this cancer as the silent killer, because doctor can only diagnose this cancer when it advances. Pancreatic cancer is the fourth most common cause of cancer death across the world, because during the early stages of the cancer does not cause any symptoms. According to the American Cancer Society, about 44,030 new cases of pancreatic cancer and about 37,660 deaths are associated to pancreatic cancer yearly. The lifetime risk of having pancreatic cancer is about 1 in 71. According to research, pancreatic cancer is found more in men than women and people that smoke are more at risk to be exposed to the disease.
