Historians have written thousands of documents about John Adams, American Fore Father, who acted as the leader of the new government of American History and the President. However, they seem like to take less care about John Adams’s extraordinary wife, Abigail Adams. She plays an important role in John Adams’s life by not only be a careful matriarch but also a contributor to John’s successes in his lifetime career. Abigail Adams is famous the letters that she wrote for her husband which contains full discussions about everything in their life, and political views. Abigail Adams made direct and indirect impacts on American history.

Abigail Adams was born in November 11, 1744 in the town of Weymouth, Massachusetts. Her father, the reverend William Smith and her mother whose name is Elizabeth Quincy Smith. Together they had total four children included Abigail. Her siblings are sister Mary was born in 1741, bother William was born in 1746 and sister Elizabeth, born in 1750. 1 (3)She was a smart young girl with a strong ambition for an education. She had to learn domestic chores at very young age and was expected to grow up like her mother becoming a household mistresses and a regular mother. Besides that, she also spent time with her father learning how to read seriously that gave her love for literature, history and theology.2(3) However, she declared that just the same as other girls in that time period she and her sisters are all suffered from not being able to have formal education opportunities. She only had home studying and self-taught during her childhood as she was not allowed to go to school.3 (1) In 1759, Abigail was fifteen year old when she met John Adams for the first time. On October 25, 1764, Abigail and John were married in the Weymouth meetinghouse after five years of knowing and falling in love with each other.
