Noted Swiss psychiatrist Carl G. Jung's theory of personality types in the basis for the MBTI®. Jung's theory explains how people have certain preferences in how they perform certain activities. It states they are perceiving, taking in information, or judging, organizing, and deciding on information perceived. Those are affected by the personal bias toward the external world, extroversion, or their own internal world, introversion.

The MBTI® takes Jung's theory of Favorite world; Introvert or Extrovert and Structure; Judging or Perceiving and adds Information; Sensing or Intuition, and Decisions; Thinking or Feeling. The results of these four factors group each individual into one of 16 personality types. These personality types are often grouped into types tables as seen in Fig 1.

With hundreds of studies over the last 40 years, existing on the MBTI® model, it has proven to measure what it claims to and will achieve the same results on repeat administrations.

Explanation

The Elias Group is a nonprofit organization, and this organization is familiar to our team. The size of the Elias Group makes it a good choice for reorganization. The Elias Group has about 31 employees, and it has a network of 100 specialists. One reasons team B chose the Elias Group is that they have no fixed assets: all assets in use are leased. One of the main problems with the Elias Group is the security is inadequate. Other reasons are that the financial part of the Elias Group needs some help, Elias Group has no direct deposit program provided. Team B decided that the Elias Group needs a complete turnaround and will focus on it.

For the personality profile method team B decided upon the Myers-Briggs model. Myers-Briggs is a personality typing test, and this type of test provides insight into how people approach things in a different way. The result of the Myers-Briggs will be used in different ways. It is used in the problems solving area, helping with the organization change, and with the help of understanding of Elias Group needs and issues.

Analysis

The MBTI® personality test is used in many ways within an organization. It will help to identify personality types of employees which will be used as a way to identify potential leaders, and to help organize teams that will work most effectively with each other as well as figure out the fit for an individual with the organization itself.

In terms of looking into the potential applications for reorganization within the Elias Group, the first step would be to have all 31 full-time employees take the test.
