The main parts of the strategy that Whole Foods Market pursues is supplying quality products in a market that is free from preservatives and other genetically created products that can reduce the quality of being organic. The whole idea is to have things naturally preserved, encouraging healthier eating habits and educating consumers of food safety. Whole Foods Market is attempting to gain a competitive advantage in the local market and with the idea of expanding internationally. The vision of Whole Food Markets is Whole Food, Whole People, and Whole Planet. Ultimately they want to provide their customers with the cheapest prices possible, but not forgetting that making a profit is just as important. The whole idea is to continue to make every effort to promote healthier eating choices globally.

2. Do Whole Foods Market’s core values as presented in case Exhibit 3really matter? Are they “real” or just cosmetic window dressing? What evidence can you cite to support your answer? Have Whole Foods’ core values contributed to the company’s success? Why or why not?

I think the values presented in case Exhibit 3 really do matter to Whole Foods Market. Whole Foods really aspires to provide a superior product while being able to serves organic foods and gourmet products. They don’t dismiss the importance of having a high regard for quality products and standards so customers can reap the benefits. This company really concentrates on the quality of their products. This includes selling preservative free products and environmentally friendly fish products. I believe this makes the company “real” as it pertains to their core values. You can really trace their success because of these core values.
