How to make a change? From east to west, societies are always seeking for ways to conduct a change. It could be social, economical, political, or even an environmental change. The willingness to search for and adopt these changes comes from the fact that societies cannot be developed without continuously adopting new mentalities, approaches, and techniques to use their resources effectively. Therefore, change is the catalyst of the development of any society. In order for this catalyst to be efficient, the way to implement it must be efficacious too. Many societies had failed to acquire changes because of the method they used to introduce and activate these changes. Accordingly, people can make a change effectively in a society through nonviolent actions, corporate influence, and charitable organizations.

A look deep in the history will reveal that nonviolent actions were and still are one of the most common methods used to implement a peaceful change in a society. This can be described as a method for changing people's opinion without having a fight or losing people's life. Nonviolent actions believe that people's acceptance, submission, and compliance form the principle of authority and power in a society (Merriman, 2008). For that reason, being derived from the vision and insight of the public, this method receives more attention and wider acceptance from society. This change will be implemented in a society through the community itself, not by any other external forces. Moreover, clear goals, strong motivation, and good leadership of these actions will identify the degree of success of acquiring a change by a society through the use of nonviolent actions.

Another effective way for making a change in a community is through the impact of corporations. They have a significant influence in a society since they manage and use most of the society's resources and can impact a wide range of the public including customers, suppliers, stockholders, and the employees. Therefore, they can have either positive or negative effects in the society depending on their strategies. A corporation will be a useful and effective tool in making a positive change in a society when it establishes social responsibility as its core of operations.
