Technology Paper

Over many decades technology has changed, to the point whereas, without having the appropriate training, and /or education, you might find yourself without a job. The reason that most company having it hard, is because technology has changed, it is growing faster than what people are being hired. Not being knowledgeable to perform the work of the new technology, many employers will find it very difficult to attain staff that is skillful enough to be characterized for maintain their positions. The new technology is not only going to affect the police officers, it will affect entire criminal justice system. By this being said, there will be in-services and other training sections to get the employees familiar with the new technology within the criminals justice system. However there will be every attempt and effort to have all the criminal justice system employees trained. Also it may be costly to educate each, and every employees whereas they will come and get the training they need to become familiar with the new technology. I believe that both units will be of help within the criminal justice system.

The Mobile Data Terminal (M.D.T) is one of the most beneficial and essential tools obtainable to the law enforcement officer at the present time. It has better the officer success by providing easier entry to remote database files, which in turn results in enhanced officer safety and improved communications potential. Information concerning stolen vehicles, wanted individuals, missing individual and other imperative is accessible to patrol and detective units in a very brief period of time. The M.D.T has also drastically decreased “voice radio” obstruction by removing the essential for officers to call in initial phase of a “stop” or field investigation. Furthermore, important data such as case numbers, times, and other information required by officers to inclusive paperwork in the field such as accident information, lost/stolen property information, etc, can now be communicated via the M.D.T

In the past, all requirements for information concerning people, vehicles, license plates, or articles had to be requested in the dispatch center, necessitate the desk officer to look up the information via a manual records quest, by establishment telephone calls to other agencies, or computer inquest. This was a comparatively time consuming progression resulting in offices losing valuable time effort to obtain information. Currently, a large amount of cases, the officer will have the necessary “initial” information that make available for accurate backup to enter and to guarantee officer will know if a vehicle is listed as stolen, if the driver’s license is authenticate or suspended, or if the registered owner is “wanted”. Confirmation or warrants /wants and other imperative is still confirmed through the dispatch center.
