Far West Program - Project Wide Evaluations

Week 4: Project wide or objective oriented evaluation.

As the director of the Far West Program to further educate the staff in their knowledge to efficiently assist children with language barriers and instruction of students with limited English barriers, I would evaluate the program using a project-wide evaluation.

I chose the project-wide evaluation because with this program there are many different objectives that must be met in order for it to be considered a successful program. No specific objective can be evaluated to understand the outcome of the program.

We must be able to evaluate the staff to ensure they have successfully been certified and the the curriculum that has been put into place is efficient enough to assist the staff. We must ensure the higher education and bilingual classes are successful.

I prefer the program-wide evaluation to the objective-oriented program because the program-wide evaluation is used to evaluate all aspects of the program and does not center on just one aspect or one objective of the program. I feel that it is necessary to evaluate the program as a whole to truly understand it and to evaluate it thoroughly in fareness. I also prefer this plan to objective-oriented evaluation unless the evaluation is on s specific aspect of a particular program.
