Cervical Cancer

All forms of cancer become a scary situation for the people involved. Cervical cancer can only affect women since men do not have a cervix. Like all cancers it can be deadly, and they should be getting proper treatment with regular checkups. The cervix is the lower part of the uterus, the place where a baby grows during pregnancy.

Cervical cancer is cancer caused by many different things the most prominent is the human papillomavirus. HPV can cause many other problems also like genital warts in a low risk. But there can be worse like cervical cancer, cancer of the vagina and anus. Some people get HPV and have no symptoms, so regular doctor visits are a good thing to partake in.

About every year 12,000 cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed. There will be about 4,200 women that will die in a year. That is reason for concern though the numbers are high, most of the patients survive. Cervical cancer used to be one of the leading causes of cancer death in women many years ago. What made the high rate go down? The Pap test use increased highly catching the cancer in the earliest states (What are).

Cervical cancer is caused in many ways, but for the most part can be prevented. Smoking increases risks for countless problems cervical cancer is one of them. Having many children can increase risks, but many people who have a lot of kids are perfectly happy with them and wound not want to change it. Birth control pills taken over a long period of time can increase the risk. HIV infections are also big but, there is a lot of worse things that can occur from HIV that can more if a burden (Cervical cancer).

Therefore a Pap test is the best way to see if there if there is a problem. The Pap test looks for abnormal cells on the cervix. Trained lab professionals look at the cells under a microscope to determine if they look abnormal or normal. When they get the results back they inform the patient
