Abstract-- The final year project named as “Smart Jacket for the Safety of Coal Miners” proposed in the department of Electrical Engineering basically defines the cheap and very efficient assistive system for the miners who lose their lives in the coal mines. Here we are doing basic operation to detect some basic things including that to check that miners are alive or not, depth of the miner, pressure in the mine and temperature under the mine and gas level and its location. In this device we have proposed an engineering cap reshaped and re designed by fixing some of the sensor that will be placed to detect the parameters we require this signal will be later on transmitted by wirelessly using ESP8266 Wi-Fi module and GSM module to the IP of the router the purpose of generating this method statement is to define the procedure step by step to implement the cheap but efficient device for the coal miners , moreover to ensure that the device installation work execution compiles with the project requirement and serves the intended function to satisfactory level.

INTRODUCTION:

With the increasing needs of society in day to day life, the scientists and engineers are focused on providing more scalable and efficient products due to which the industry is fast growing. In this tough competition of production, employee health and safety is the foremost thing that should be taken care of. Sadly, a good number of workers are losing their life because of lack of knowledge about safety and also industrial hazards and accidents. To guarantee worker wellbeing and security with rising advances such as Wireless Body Area Networks and Internet of Things, a modern concept is proposed with the innovation of Smart Jackets into the businesses. A Smart Jacket is implemented with associated sensors for perusing the representative wellbeing.  This jacket is equipped with different sensors such as MQ05, BMP180, DHT11, a heart sensor, a GPS and GSM module, Arduino Mega and ESP8266. With the help of this information, the management will be aware of the health condition of the worker and immediate measures are taken in case of any emergency that may occur. The wellbeing of the laborers is observed each moment without any interference. Proximity sensors are moreover connected with the Smart Jacket in such a way that if any of the worker is about to be influenced with any danger, these sensors will sense previously and a few quick measures are taken as of giving an alarm to the laborer so that he will be mindful of it and it will be spared from the unsafe circumstances sometime recently they lead to mischances. This embedded system may not provide life to the worker but it may remove the ambiguity and guide them accordingly. Initially it may require training but after becoming used to of it, it will reduce a whole lot of difficulty for the industries. This embedded system will be cheap and less consuming through which signals will be transmitted wirelessly to ESP8266 (Wi-Fi module).
