Introduction

What makes a movie what it is? There are so many things that need to be done in order to make a film successful, it is a big task and play a major role in the process. In this paper I will give you the most important people who play an important role in the film making process along with some details of the film making process itself.

Director

Film making starts with the film production team; which are the director, production designer, and the art director. I choose the movie Man on Fire with Denzel Washington. This movie was directed by Tony Scott in 2004. Tony's role in this movie was to interpret the script the way that he sees it. He also gives the actor or actress their roles and lines for the movie. Tony also gives the details on how each actor their facial expression and tones. For example, Creasy is normally a very calm guy so his facial expression could be blank or a serious look; while his tone can be very mild and edgy. The director is the mastermind behind the whole movie and his input is very powerful and needed in order for this film to be successful. Tony has been the director of several movies such as: Déjà vu, The Last Boy Scout and Taking Pelham 1,2,3.

Art Designer

Man on Fire had some wonderful art in it and the man behind it was Hector C. Romero. His role was to act as the project manager for the biggest department in film making. The main responsibility from Hector is to organize the departments' budget and manage work schedules for the rest of the crew. He also must assist the production designer with allocating the maximize money to the whole art department. Hector has been the art director of movies such as: "Titanic, Total Recall and License to Kill." Hector's role is very important he literally sets the whole scene for the movie.

Production Designer

For this movie there were two production designers Benjamin Fernandez and Chris Seagers. They have a major role to play they are the top heads of the department for the film crews. Their responsibility is to control the entire art department and helping the director achieve the film visuals and providing producers with the calculated schedules for the making of the film. Benjamin has always done work in other movies such as: The Others and Ginger's Alien. While Chris his self has worked on several films as well like Beautiful Thing and Murder Room: Mystery of the Real Sherlock Holmes. Both of these production
