Some people think women should be allowed to join the army, the navy and the air force just like men. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

With an increasing number of women playing pivotal roles in our lives, people are concerned about the polices of women’s joining the army. However, whether women should be allowed to be a member of army or air force like men is still a controversial issue. My point of view is that women should be provided the opportunities to join the army.

Obviously, it is the sexual bias that authorities forbid women to join the army. There are plenty of brilliant women who harbor a dream of becoming a soldier and contributing their lives to national defense and security. Nowadays women have enjoyed a higher social status in terms of more rights and less sexual limitations. Therefore, it will be quite unreasonable for the army to discourage the desires of women.

Moreover, we can not deny that women do have some overwhelming advantages which fit for some special sort of posts in the army. For example, there are numerous women spies who accomplished tasks excellently and impressed us in the history. Undoubtedly, women are more flexible and easy-going, which can be devoted to the interpersonal issues. So, there are many vacancies in the army for the women to fill in.

That is not to say that women should be provided with all kinds of jobs in the army. Of course, some missions assigned to women will never be achieved well due to their inherent disadvantages. But we can never make a judgment just from a narrow perspective for we should exploit the power of women instead of ignoring it.

In sum, allowing women to serve for the national defense cause can benefit the army and fulfill their own self-values as well. Meanwhile, we should offer them appropriate positions in order to let them fully demonstrate their abilities and protect them
