We consider rock and roll as an opportunity and the turning point for other genre of music to rise. Before Rock and Roll, we can say that music consists on love stories or religious purposes such as Blues or Gospel. But with the invention of electric guitar made by Adolph Rickenbacker, we can say the time of Rock and Roll has come. Singers as Elvis Presley or Chuck Berry gave another image and sense to music industry. They even change the taste and music habits of US residents. As an example, dancing with the lower part of the body was forbidden on US television because it was considered as offensive. It was the case of Elvis Presley known as a “Hips dancer” who was filmed just by the upper part of the body during the TV shows. After a certain time, it changes.

Rock and Roll was a new culture, a phenomenon which attracted people and influenced others to rise from all over the world. We give the example of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones which were huge fans of Elvis Presley. We think that Rock and Roll music is a turning point for music because it was the period where music was not all about love lyrics. People have known this new rebellious spontaneous music covered political, social or economic aspects. It was the time period of building the basis of Rock music as we know it today. Who say Rock music say Pop, Folk, Metal …

Some say that Rock and Roll was time limited and disappeared after a certain time or with the death of Elvis Presley the King of Rock and Roll. We say that R&R have and will always exist. Why? Simply because it is the source and the core of music evolution. With time, Rock and Roll took different shapes with the change of time, events and geographic location. During the 60’s, it was the progressive and psychedelic rock with the Pink Floyd. Early 70’s, it was the Folk Rock with Cat Stevens and others.
