AUTISM

This paper is to inform readers about children that are labeled Autistic. Though out this paper you will have the chance to read about the definition of Autism and my personal opinion of the disability. You will also be able to read about some symptoms and behaviors for children with ASD. Autism has been looked at in many different ways for a number of years. There are many types of autism. Living with a child with autism can be difficult at times and a blessing at other times. There are many sources of help for autistic children and the help is there for parents as well. Some parents look beyond the signs of ASD because they have never seen it or heard of about it. Understand that yes your child or children are different but do not single them out, get them help because they deserve it. As you read please take in the information given and for more or ASD you can always look up the website www.AutismSpeaks.org.

ASD also known as Autism Spectrum Disorder is defined as “a group of complex developmental brain disorders.(Autism Speaks, 2005-2010)” Autism is a disorder that often affects the capability of ones communication and social development. Communication for autistic children may be a difficult task. Communication problems may be very little to where you can work to make progress. On the other hand communication problems may be so severe that there is no way to fixing the problem. Young children with autism who are still having a hard time gathering there words often uses different sounds and body languages. They often have a hard time maintaining a simple conversation with another person. Children with autism also seem to develop language skills much slower then the normal child. I have often seen that students with autism have a hard time looking eye to eye with another person. You will often notice that children with autism will often communicate with the rhyming words or memorize catchy phrases that they will repeat over and over again. Communication is just half of the symptoms of autism, another side would be the affects it has on social development.
