Personal Responsibility

The definition of personal responsibility is the willingness to both accept the importance of standards that society establishes for their own behavior and make strenuous personal efforts to live by those standards. And is an act of standing up for one’s decisions. To me I don’t think everyone takes control of their life decisions. However; the ones that do their life choices will help them with their personal responsibly. It will always affect you in your day to day life.

Personal responsibility will directly affect your day to day life whether it’s your own life or achieving college success. The relationship between personal responsibility and your own life are the decision you make for your family or even you’re career. I am responsible for my son and his actions. I am in charge of how he will develop and grow into a smart, capable young man. It is my job to teach my son personal reasonability and to help him grow as a person. Another personal responsibility is your career; you have to make sure everything goes well and do whatever it takes to advance and better yourself in your career. Achieving your goals will help you with your personal responsibility as a parent. Determination and pushing forward on individual responsibilities will make you try hard and help you handle things in your day to day life. Such as college success; many have worked successfully, and then there are some who have failed, I know I have. I accepted how I failed, and I changed the way I was doing things and tried again. It was my personal responsibility to go back to college and strive for the best. By doing this, I got my Associates with a 3.8 GPA. It was my own decision and standing up for my decision to finish my bachelor’s degree and to enroll back into school. The relationship with personal responsibility and college success is being in charge of your time management. Creating a schedule to study and do your assignments. You can accept personal reasonability and maintain a sense of balance in your life; it’s a virtue and should apply to your thoughts, feelings and actions.

Practicing personal responsibility in my education is making studying part of my life. I am a full time mother, and I have a full time career. I can add college to my day to day life and my goals. I plan on practicing personal responsibility by scheduling time to study, and completing assignments on time. It’s all about balancing my life. There will be steps to take to take control of my life. First is looking at what time I have free. I read my assignments and even do some homework on my breaks and lunch break at work. I finish my tasks when my son is fast asleep, so I have zero interruptions. I make sure I have everything turned in by Friday, so I have the weekend to my son. When I have team assignments, I think I have worked it out to where Friday will be our teams meeting, and we can review everything and that still doesn’t go into my family time. By having this plan I have taken control of my life, and I have taken responsibility for my education and where I can strive to succeed.
