3.LITERATURE REVIEW

1. New Zealand is a country with much land and few people left the country, almost everyone has a car, each family is several cars. “According to statistics, the average person in New Zealand has a car, if calculated by adults, the number of cars per thousand people have 613, ranking second only to Luxemburg in the world rankings.” (XuXue, 2012) In Nelson, we can see the largest car is a Japanese car, the TOYOTA brand is the market perennial champion, Honda, Nissan, Subaru, MITSUBISHI and other Japanese brands are also quite popular. “I checked the data, according to the recently released New Zealand automotive industry association data show that in July 2011 passenger car market, New Zealand, total sales of 4879 vehicles, the TOYOTA car in the local market in the first place, passenger car sales of 616. Followed by the public, the monthly sales of 564 vehicles. We all know that New Zealand does not have its own car manufacturing enterprises, the purchase of cars mainly rely on imports.” (Jiang, 2012)New Zealand imported second-hand vehicles mainly from Japan, Singapore and Germany, as Singapore's tropical climate, so Singapore used car condition overall is not good, especially the effect of paint, the tire is larger; and to import all the second-hand car from Germany, because the road is far, high transportation costs, so come from Germany imported second-hand car is not very wide, just accept the customer in advance of second-hand car; so most of the second-hand car is imported from Japan over, whether Russia, Africa, Southeast Asia and South Asia, most of the imported second-hand cars are from Japan, Japan became the world's largest second-hand car exports of course, this country, but also the side reflects the Japanese cars outstanding performance in all aspects. Like Japan and New Zealand, are using the right-hand driving, with Japan on New Zealand's second-hand car export policy is very favorable. In New Zealand, vehicles more than 80% Japanese cars is not surprising. Another important reason is the cost of repairs and maintenance. “According to the current situation, in the second half of 2010, the Japanese car for a change of oil about 40 Singapore dollars, with the level of German cars at least $80, the U.S. car $60.” (CHUANG, 2013) The cost of repairs is also roughly the same. In New Zealand, most of the local students and international students are to choose the second-hand Japanese cars, only some middle-aged people love German car repairer process well, so go and choose German cars.
