Walt Disney Company Organizational Planning

“Walter Elias Disney and his brother Roy established the Walt Disney Company in the late 1920s to produce short animations. The company’s first synchronized-sound cartoon, Steamboat Willie (1928), featured Mickey Mouse, a character that became one of the best-known icons in the world” (Disney, W (2008), pg.410). In the following paper one will learn and understand Walt Disney Company’s goals, SWOT analysis, internal stake holders, external stake holders, and the company can meet their goals through strategic and operational planning.

According to the Walt Disney Company SWOT Analysis (2012), Walt Disney, along with its affiliates, is a diversified entertainment organization has a noteworthy customer reach of the organization’s cable networks operations that heightens its brand’s image and delivers competitive advantage over its competitors. The company even though it has a tough market perception lends more stability to the organization’s operations and delivers a chance to cross-sell its other organizations, leading to enhanced profits, growth, prospects.

Goals

For any organization to be successful they must have goals to meet. Like any of those organizations the Walt Disney Company has goals too. The Walt Disney Company feels the need to be one of the world’s top producers and providers of entertainment. The goal of Walt Disney Company wanting to be world’s top producers and providers of entertainment this goal may be reached through operational planning. Walt Disney Company uses their portfolio of brands to separate their consumer products, content, and services. Walt Disney Company searches to develop the most profitable, innovative, creative, entertainment experiences, and related products in the world.
