 Shanghai’s FTZ

China (Shanghai) free trade zone, referred to as FTA free trade zone in Shanghai or Shanghai, is China's Government to establish a regional free trade zone in Shanghai, located in Pudong, China free trade zone areas.

Test area covering Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free trade zone, Waigaoqiao bonded Logistics Park and Yangshan bonded port area and Shanghai Pudong airport, 4 special customs supervision zones, with a total area of 28.78 square kilometers. December 28, 2014, Standing Committee of the national people's Congress authorizing the State Council to extend free trade zone, Shanghai, China, to extend the area to 120.72 square kilometers.

The establishment of the China (Shanghai) free trade area is in line with the new trends in global trade and economic development, the implementation of a major initiative to more proactive open strategy.

  1. The importance of Shanghai’s FTZ

“The Shanghai FTZ zone is critical to China's economic development. It is meant to allow experimentation and promote best practices in many areas, including financial services.” Shanghai free trade zone is approved to implement, given the opportunity to not only trade, shipping, finance, has relaxing preferential taxation and foreign exchange policies, to transnational corporations within the global allocation, more financial institutions will be opened in Shanghai.

Tax exempt and free port will be conducive to attracting high-end manufacturing and trade zone will help attract more processing, manufacturing, trading and logistics enterprises gather, stacking China's industrial upgrading. Therefore, the zone for the logistics cluster effect will be more pronounced.

  1. Location

Shanghai free trade zone in the Pudong new area of Shanghai, is located in Eastern Shanghai, Eastern margin of the Yangtze River Delta. Covering the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free trade zone, Waigaoqiao bonded Logistics Park and Yangshan bonded port area and Shanghai Pudong airport, 4 special customs supervision zones. Extension areas include Lujiazui financial zone, Jinqiao development zone and the Zhangjiang high-tech zone.
