Self-Knowledge Case

Self-knowledge assessment gave me a chance to identify my strengths demonstrated by my life experience; now I should try to develop them in highly professional manner. Situations from my work experience showed that I am empathetic and competitive person, and situation with major choosing decision proved that I am a deliberative person as well.

First of all, I am an empathetic person who care about other people’s feelings. I always try to put myself in people’s different situations and understand what they might feel. I understand that people have different lives and some situations can be more serious than they seem to other “watchers”. For example, once when I was working at Red Lion Elementary School, I had to wait for a girl’s parents till nine o’clock in the evening, although school was officially closed at seven in the afternoon. I called both parents (they were divorced) several time but couldn’t reach them. Then, I called Salomiya’s fourteen year old sister who promised to call one of the adults. Thirty minutes later I called her again and she said that grandfather will be there in five minutes. Forty minutes later there still were no one to take her home. I called sister again and she said that there was misunderstanding between her and grandfather and he will come soon. No one showed up. I called my boss who told me to call the police. I decided to wait a little bit more and not to call police because I knew it could cost parent huge problems. At eight thirty in the evening girl’s mom called me and explained that she was at work and mixed-up days of the week. She thought that that day was father’s turn to pick up their daughter. At eight fifty the girl was picked up. My time was wasted, but I totally understood them and were not feeling any anger toward them.

Secondly, I like to compete with people and I always try to be among the winners. I am not the one who will be notice in a big crowd. I am not that bright from the first sight. However, if there is something that I am interested in, I will do my best to be on the top of glory. For
