Omega Paw Inc. is a company that manufactures a variety of pet’s products but specializes in cat products. Michael Ebert is the president and inventor of Omega Paws best-selling item “Self-Cleaning Litter Box”. The company wants increase sales in the future at a rapid rate therefore they need to create marketing and distribution strategies. There are a few different markets segmentation for this product would be the new cat owner, existing cat owner and the grey zone. The alternatives that would most benefit this organization would be, look into revising the mail order channels, continue with current distribution plan, and use the $100,000 for general marketing campaign, Sell the litter box units to mass distribution outlets and expand into grocery stores across Canada and USA. The recommendation that would benefit them would be to go into mass distribution because they could turn over their inventory faster.

Problem Statements

Omega paw Inc., have generated sales of $1 million dollars in their first year of business selling self-cleaning litter boxes. Omega would like to continue to grow the business and target a larger market therefore review of their existing strategy to formulate changes is required to achieve further market penetration and increased sales.

Company Objectives

Omega Paw has reached good sales figure in its first year of business for “Self-Cleaning Boxes” and wants to meet the future sales target to reach $1.7 million by the next fiscal year0end which is Dec 2012 then $3 million by December 2013 and $5.7 million by December 2014.

Mr. Ebert has reached a good sales figure in its first year of business for “Self-Cleaning Litter Boxes” and wants to meet his ambitious future sales target to reach $1.7 million by next fiscal year-end which is Dec 2012 then $3 million by December 2013 and $5.7 million by December 2014.

Company Background

Omega Paw Inc., manufacture and sell self-cleaning litter boxes and have been in business for over a year and reached sales of $1 million dollars.  Omega has succeeded on their invention of a self-cleaning litter box which has been designed to roll onto it’s back. The purpose of the rolling is so that the litter flows through a filter screen and the clumps go into another compartment for removal.  The box is then rolled back into position to allow the litter to flow back through the filter to the litter tray and the narrow compartment is easily removed to empty the animal waste.
