INTRODUCTION

K&N’s was established in 1964 by Khalil and Naushaba (K&N’s). Now ran with his son Adil K. Sattar. The company is a fully vertically integrated poultry enterprise in Pakistan as they have their own feed mill and they are producing their own bird. With the projected 2011 sales in the region of US$250 million, K&N’s is a brand leader for processed chicken and value added chicken products. The company overtook all worse economic conditions in Pakistan and built an enterprise that is even praised by international visitors.

K&N’s has a very strong and reliable new product development process which includes 4 stages. First step is to create food concept, second step is to test the concept, third is to adjust the product and fourth is market introduction. The four stage process increases the success rate of new product development. K&N’s have efficiently managed to find gaps in the market and gaps that are not yet filled relating to customer needs and health benefits. They have successfully introduced some international products like nuggets, croquettes and burger patties. Moreover some products that are not easily made at home such as chicken tikka and barbeque seekh kabab.
