1: Introduction of the project – A company dinner and dance

One of the ways to reward employees who have been serving and working hard for the company is to hold a company dinner and dance. Many companies have chosen dinner and dance as their internal gesture of appreciation to their employees because such events only lasts about three hours maximum. It does not take up too much for the employee’s personal time since these corporate events can only be held after office hours or in the evening.

While it brings the employees together at a convenient time and practical duration, it also allows the employees to have strong inter personal relationships with their colleagues. Events like this will allow the employees to communicate with their superiors or top management in an out-of-office setting, making it easier and more comfortable for them to be completely open and honest. In addition, it will also create opportunities for staffs to interact with those from a different departments.

2: Project Scope statement – 6 items checklist

A project scope statement is a tool used to outline a project’s deliverables and help in distinguishing the constraints, assumptions and key success elements (Mind Genius, 2014). It emphasizes on the purpose of the project and what it is meant to accomplish. A project scope statement needs to be specific, especially in terms of money and time to ensure a successful project (Mind Genius, 2014).

  • The main objective of this project is to hold a dinner and dance party for the employees as a gesture of appreciation and gratitude for their hard work, effort and contribution in the company.
  • The main deliverables is to ensure the employees not only enjoy themselves, but also feel appreciated and recognized for the effort put in for the continued success of the company.
  • There are a few major issues to consider when managing this project.

The first consideration will be confirming the number of employees who will be able to attend the event. Attendance is not compulsory as we understand that some employees have personal commitments at home. However, supervisors and managers are to encourage their staff to attend this event and emphasize on the activities that will be there. For example, lucky draws and prizes to be won.
