My group was assigned with the presentation titled ‘Flying with RyanAir’ and the main objective was on the delivery of its low-cost strategy through the five value chain activities. It was structured into 5 questions and each of us is assigned to different questions. We divided the material in the book according to the questions that each of us will have to present.

My section was the fifth section on the questionable ethical practices highlighted in the case and suggestions on ethical changes for CEO Michael O’Leary. I was mindful that my section, which was about the rather important suggestions on ethical changes, could be unengaging for an audience if having all texts on the slides. Therefore, I relied on verbal explanation to deliver my points to the audience so that they could be forced to listen attentively rather than having the information readily put in front of them. The overall presentation went smoothly but there are features which could have been improved. Length of the presentation emerged to be an issue of this presentation because I kept the pace of the presentation quite fast to avoid audience becoming bored.

Besides, group presentation does not only develop my communication skills to audience but as well as interpersonal skills, for instance active listening and concerning ideas from others. I am now aware that body language does impact team dynamics and cooperation. The challenging dynamics of team work at certain period helps to identify my strengths and weaknesses and develop my confidence level and negotiating skills particularly when dealing with others and to derive on the best solution as well as ensuring everyone makes an equal contribution.

Employability defines the ability to secure and ensure work satisfactory. The process undertaken during team work developed my employability skills. Teamwork is the key to employability. The ability to demonstrate that I can work collaboratively with people from various of backgrounds is very vital for first job application. Every individual plays a different role in a team whether as a doer or a leader. Different individual holds different roles within groups, and knowing these clearly can be very advantageous. Even meeting up with friends for social purposes will embrace different roles. Hence, knowing my own responsibility and accountability in the team contributes to employability.
