In the movie, the main character Helen Benson is a single step mother with a child name Jacob Benson. She is a loving and caring mother who give unconditionally love toward her child. When Helen was under custody by government, Helen still concerning about her children. In the climax scene where Jacob had been infected by the swarm, Helen selflessly request Klaatu to use his power to save her son without consider for her fate. Helen family love toward Jacob had cause Klaatu to sacrifice himself in order to stop the swarm and save humanity.

In reality, mostly parents will behave like Helen Benson who care about her son. Whenever their children is under dangerous condition, the parents will selflessly sacrifice themselves to protect their children.

Presentation of Argument

People tend to protect and care about their family selflessly because they love their family more than themselves.

People should practice family love to create a better society.

Reasoning

There are a lot reasons to support the argument.

The moment when Helen and his son had tear-filled reunion in front of her husband grave where Helen care and talk to his son had convinces Klaatu to stop the attack.

In the climax scene, Helen shows her family love by requesting Klaatu to save his son who had been infected by the swarm instead of her who also had been infected. Her family love toward his son had cause Klaatu change his mind and sacrifice himself to stop the swarm and save humanity.
