The world has moved into a new era in the last 30 years. Instead of the Industrial Age, we are now living and working in the Information Age where both technological and cultural change is faster than ever before. Successful businesses have always run by people who can create new products and services that immediately catch up with emerging trends and themselves had better have open-minded to deal with a world where the pace of chance is so rapid. But not everyone has the right vision when dealing with market problems so that it is essential to train business skills for business minded people. Based on the knowledge learnt in Soft Skills class in UEH, I am completely agreed that the critical thinking is now considered as a key point to form a successful businesses. This essay will discuss some characteristics about critical thinking in business today.

Critical thinking can also know as smarter thinking which cover six skills: problem-solving, analysis, creative thinking, interpretation, evaluation and reasoning. A good critical thinker is able to ask the right questions, filter bias or useless details and find new solutions where others see only problems and a mass of data. In other words, they have ability to “think outside the box” and see new possibilities for the future.

Critical thinking skills impact strongly in business success. Firstly, the ability to think critically is what makes us adaptable and capable of tackling new challenges. These skills are increasingly necessary in a rapidly-changing business market and in societies in which there are no longer jobs for life. Secondly, critical thinking skills help employees plan more efficiently, tackle risks or problems more effectively, and cope with an increased flow of digital information by making quicker, safer, more informed and more creative decisions.Last but not least, having the right skills to think critically means that you are less likely to make
