If I were to start a business I would start a medication free detox and rehabilitation facility called Free at Last. The customer base would be individuals that are substance users and/or family & friends of substances users. The actual facility would be located in a quiet, mountain region; the office where you apply for the program would be located in a major city. I would use bank loans to cover all start-up costs. The cost for treatment would depend on how long the patient plans to stay and the severity of their abuse. The base price would cover the necessities needed (food, shelter, clothing, toiletries), employee pay, equipment, and security fee. I would try to keep the cost as minimal as possible in order to be able to reach out to a larger population of users. I would try to find a way to accept insurance which would help decrease out of pocket expenses for the customers. I would have a maximum cost in place so the customers would know what the absolute maximum would be each month. I would have multiple different programs available such as 2-week detox, 1 month rehab, 3 month rehab, 6 month rehab, etc. I would also have a program set up for those who complete their set plan. The program would track their progress once they leave the facility and would allow them to return if they feel that temptation is overwhelming; they would be assigned a sponsor as well.
