Business Consulting

In today’s environment, company leaders have grown more reliant on internal and external consultants as expert advisors assisting them in meeting evolving company objectives and organizational changes. Consultants also help companies navigate around the reshaping of processes and procedures to ensure their clients’ establish competitiveness in the marketplace. Furthermore, many companies make good use of consultants as resources in trouble shooting issues within a company because they have the necessary ability and knowledge to steer organizational methods to produce sustainable business results (Block, 1999).

Vision

It is commonplace for a firm to have a mission and vision statement to define commitment to its strategic plans focusing on organizational goals. Furthermore, a company's mission and vision statement is a declaration to internal and external customers as well as stakeholders regarding the firm’s dedication to what the organization will provide its customers. A consultant or a consulting company also has a mission statement based on stimulating sustainable success for its clients with immediate and long-term measurable breakthrough results. Block (1999) stated, “We contact to produce change in the line company of a structural, policy, or procedural nature” (p. 4). Through influencing change as company advisors creating possibilities by training and transparent interacting with management within an organization. For this reason, the consultants mission is to motivate company leader’s objectives and actions influencing the company’s bottom-line profits (Hwenha, 2011).

Business Consultant and Functions

Block (1999) stated, “An advisor is a person in a position to have some impact over a person, a group, or a company, however that has no direct capacity to make modifications or execute programs” (p. 2, para. 2).
