Executive Summary

Below report is based on the porter five forces analysis to understand an industry before competing within it. In my situation I considered the banking industry of Australia and hence used the five forces to undergo the competitive analysis in banking industry in Australia. In this project I started with an introduction of the five key element of Michael porter’s forces and talked about each stages of these of this force. I also undergo deep research that helped me understand the nature of the 5 forces and the attractiveness of an industry. I talked about much details of each of the five porter’s stages and come to a conclusion at the end of the report. My understanding throughout the banking industry of Australia is that, the 4 major bank is really difficult and costly to compete with, hence, banks just make it easier by staying either small bank or move to regional areas, the biggest threat to the major banks is hereby the foreign banks who is actually competing with them. See throughout.
