A project is temporary; it has a definite set of operations which are designed to accomplish a particular goal. A project has a clear start and end time. Often people who don’t usually work together are included in a project – these people are sometimes from different geography and sometimes also from different organizations. Some examples of different projects are – construction of a bridge or a building, development of software for business, and expansion of sales of a particular product. All projects must be skillfully managed to deliver on-time results.

Project management is the use of skills, techniques and knowledge to carry out the project capably and effectively. Project management is a planned ability of organizations through which they link their project results to their business goals and thus are able to compete in the market. Project Management plans, organizes, motivates, and controls resources to achieve desired results.

 Cost

Quality – Quality is a very important factor in a project. Many project managers have a belief that high quality cannot come without high cost, which is not always true (Linders, 2013).
