For this assignment, I am going to introduce two big problems: drug abuse and gun violence, which is happening in United States. I will introduce these problems from its influence and its harm to the society.

1. Draft

With the rapidly develop of the society, everything is getting better than before; more technology are invented, laws and rules are more human, and so on. United States of America, the most powerful country, is also facing large amount of problems. For instance, internet trolls, human rights, illegal drugs, water shortage, gun violence, class difference, or something else. The faster you developing, the more problem you will face. Now, I want to take United States as an example and analyze the condition in U.S.

First of all, I want to talk something about the gun. According to the Second Amendment to the US Constitution says, ‘the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.’ The prime purpose that allows people use gun is protect them, but attack others. The government wants people to protect their right or safe if the occasion should arise. Some bad people, though, are utilizing guns to hurt others. Statistically speaking, the total amount population of United States occupies 4.4% of the total amount population of the world. On the other hand, the quantity of the gun takes up the half of the total number of the gun in the world. The more guns it has, the more danger they will face. Based on guns control survey, conducted by National Survey on Private Ownership and Use of Firearms, there has 192,000,000 guns in United States. Besides, there are more than 30,000 people died from the gun and 200,000 people get hurt from the gun. Moreover, there always happens manslaughter events; some kids use gun to kill their parents. Since, their parents do not put the gun in a reasonable place. There were 283 gun shots events happened in 246 days. It really affected all of American citizens’ life, even some foreign people who live in United States. If it is keep going seriously, less and less people will go to United States, which will bring United States into economy depression.

What is more, based on a number collection, about 40% American adults have used illegal drugs in their life. A report, conducted by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, states that there are 23,900,000 people who use illegal drugs, which occupies 9.2% of total population in United States; 18,900,000 people who are using marijuana, which occupies 7.3%; 1,100,000 people are using psychedelic; 6,800,000 people are using psychoactive drug substance; 1,600,000 people are using cocaine. Moreover, prescription medicine abuse will not only getting people crazy, but also let them in an unstable emotion condition. Then, they will choose intemperance alcohol or illegal drugs to calm themselves while they are uncontrolled. For a long time, they are forced to become a drug user which exists bigger threats to themselves or society.
