“Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers” is a documentary that lasted up to 1 hour and 15 minutes, directed and produced by Robert Greenwald presented by Brave New Films and made in 2006. The film talks about contractors hired to support the war in Iraq getting paid by the government and people’s tax money. In 2004 during the documentary the soldiers were active at the time and the government use to help the soldiers, which is now being done by private companies. These companies include Halliburton, Parson, Dyn Corp, Black Water, Transatlantic, C.A.C.I, and Titan. There are about 100,000 contractors working in Iraq. Parson is contracted for engineering and construction and is given $5.3 billion dollars. Dyn Corp is hired for police training and is given $1.9 billion dollars. Transatlantic is hired for traders and surveillance aircraft and is given $5 million dollars. But the main focus in the documentary is on four private companies that make money from tax payers and the government. Black Water, C.A.C.I, Titan, and Halliburton show how private contractors are taking away traditional military roles.

One big security private company is well known in Iraq as Black Water. Black Water is hired as private security for the American ambassador Paul Bremer. This company is made out of ex military soldiers and Special Forces. An incident happened in Iraq when four black water soldiers were killed. The vehicle wasn’t armored nor did it have a machine gun to protect them. Black Water cared about was making money and sent out those private security soldiers without a guide or protection. Another big contractor is JP London, which is the CEO of C.A.C.I, and in 2004 according to the film his income was $22,249,453. C.A.C.I is a large company among the top ten technology providers. They got contracted for 60,000,000 dollars according to Greenwald film, for interrogation in Abu Ghraib not to do IT work, but to get information from human beings in a notorious prison in Iraq. About fifty percent of the interrogators were private contractors. Military soldiers were train to follow a chain of command and C.A.C.I interrogators didn’t have a chain of command because the company would train them to torture the prisoners. C.A.C.I personals that worked for the company would talk to the soldiers and convince them to join then with an offer the soldiers couldn’t refuse because they would be getting paid twice as much.
