Steve Jobs: Co- Founder of Apple

In the movie Pirates of Silicon Valley, there are three important pieces of information I discovered about the Co-Founder of Apple, Steve Jobs. This movie takes us through some of the most important times in Steve Jobs’ life, from co-inventing a wooden computer in his parents’ garage to becoming CEO of one of America’s largest computer companies. He was a very creative, imaginative man who was very important to the world of technology.

In a small garage located in Berkley, in 1976 Steve Jobs and his best friend Steve Wozniak were busy building computers made of wood. They had one main interest and that was to wipe out IBM, although their main sales were at a small convention known as a “Home Brew Club”, they sold 50. During this time Steve Jobs was busy reinventing himself to look more presentable to banks while trying to get a loan. He changed from a scruffy, beardy, hippie-looking individual into a respectable well kept looking business man in a short time.

It was at the Computer Faire Sanfransico in 1977 when Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak introduced their computer to all the technology seekers. This computer was very interesting to everyone who came although it only had 62 bits; their invention got more attention than anything there. This was also the first time Steve Jobs was introduced to his future enemy Bill Gates, and of course it seemed as though Steve snubbed him. Shortly after this the first manufacturing site for Apple computers was built.

Steve Jobs got some of his brilliant ideas from visiting the company XEROX. This is where the ideas for the Graphic Interface and the Mouse were first discovered, although people accredited Steve with them. These were the two inventions that boosted Steve Jobs and Apple Computer to over a 100 billion dollar head start on everyone else.
