Omni channel Approach of Hector

Paper boat’s alliance with fastest growing e-commerce sector proved to be beneficial and it helped Hector to provide end-to-end solution and integrated service to its customers.  From about 15,000 retail touch points, Hector is aiming to cover about 50,000 by the end of the year. To please its young consumer, the company unveiled shoppaperboat.com to serve consumers in approx. 70 cities now.

According to Neeraj Biyani, co-founder & COO – Hector Beverages said, “We always look at innovating and creating something inspiring with Paper Boat. The objective of this initiative is to be easily accessible to our consumers. With a large number of our customers spending more and more time online, we wanted to provide our consumers an added avenue of choosing and ordering our beverages. Shoppaperboat.com is a step in that direction. ”


Paper boat also export its product to Canada, US, UK, Dubai, Australia and New Zealand. Its lead time is 45 days.

About Hector

Few years back, paper boat started with two variant in August 2013: aam panna and jaljeera; these were followed by aamras, kalakhatta, kokum, golgappe ka pani and imli. Another five variants will be launched next month and five more will occupy the shelves early next year. Kakkar and his team have mapped the traditional beverages of all states and plan to roll out a lot more variants after firmly establishing at least 25.

Hector Beverages plant in Manesar is currently producing 70000 unit per day. New plant has been inaugurated on 11th March, 2015 in Mysore with 280000 unit per day capacity to fulfill increasing demand. This plant will have an enhanced production capacity of up to 600 packets per minute but they plan to begin with manufacturing 220 packets per minute as of now.

Main reason for opening plant in Mysore are:

  • Most of the raw material comes from south
  • Land cost is low as compare to Manesar and other areas
  • It will be easy to satisfy the south side demand as transportation time is 7 days from Manesar to Banglore which is high

Logistics

Hector beverages outsourced the packaging of 250ml and 1 liter to vendors. For tetra pack packaging Hector outsourced to Hersey’s co-manufacturing department. Hersey has its own product portfolio like Jumpin, Soyafit etc.
