Sacrificial System Essay: Old Testament verses New Testament

The Old Testament is the foundation of lessons taught and all the experiences, which are in the New Testament. The sacrificial system is Gods way of allowing Israel to hide their sins, for a short time. We are taught about the return of Jesus Christ that is to come, preparing us. The New Testament explains the gospels to us, and records prophecies that happen. Identifying Jesus Christ as the Messiah is an important event to the Israelites, and the Old Testament does that. The New Testament keeps the flow of revelation going, and clarifies the teaching that was not completely understood in the Old Testament. ‘‘It is the Old Testament that helps us understand God’s promise and the New Testament shows us how they have and will come to pass.’’ (differencebetween.net, 2012). The Old Testament and the New Testament come together explaining each other. You cannot understand the New Testament completely without reading the Old Testament. We can find everything needed to live a godly life and have eternal life in the bible.

Sacrifice of Jesus Christ

Jesus did die for our sins, so we could be forgiven through his death. Jesus Christ dying for our sins is the only way salvation would be possible for us. There is no other way for us to receive salvation otherwise. Mankind separated themselves from God when they gave into temptation in sin. We can restore and rebuild our relationship with God through trust and faith in Him. The human population has become fallen race of sinners, salvation and being forgiven is only possible through Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. Trusting
