Part I:

The video that we watched entitled “Romance without Regrets” by Jason and Crystalina Evert talks about Chastity. Chastity, as presented in the video, is not just mere abstinence from sexual activities, but rather a choice to live with freedom, respect, peace and romance without having any doubts and regrets. They talked about the importance and goodness of purity and virginity that we, as unmarried people, should not be embarrassed of. The video is centered on how we should deal with relationships, especially on how far should a couple go with in a relationship. Jason and Crystalina also presented the most common issues that teenagers go through these day and age like pornography, sexual pressure, contraceptives, and sexually transmitted diseases. They were able to connect these teenage issues to chastity and Catholic teachings and they were able to address the audience the proper mentality and approaches in dealing with these temptations and societal pressure. Lastly, the two couples were able to uplift the spirits of those whose purity have been taken away at an early age. Crystalina, for example, site her life experience in high school, losing her virginity at the age of 15, and finds no meaning in every relationship she got into. She said that it’s never too late to change and start all over again. After all, what is important is that she has grown into a mature and better person and she gain knowledge and understanding of the beauty in being in the state of chastity.

If I had a friend who seeks my advice in that situation, I would probably tell her this: “I’m not saying that you haven’t met the right man destined for you, but I can say that you haven’t got a good man. First of all, a good man is someone who respects a woman. He should respect her body, beliefs, and limitations. He should not provoke things that would lead the both of you
