For example, during World War II, people were only allowed a certain amount of fabric so they were forced to create simple outfits that were practical enough for wartime duties.  In this 21st century, fashion have become a concern trend to everyone especially this younger generations. Fashion can brings some benefit to the society. Through the function paradigm, the manifest function of fashion are follow the society trend. Second, Fashion can differentiate social class of an individual. The attire of a person can show out the social classes on the basic of wealth, income, educational attainment and occupation. Next, the invention of fashion can the increase the economy growth. Fashion have become important to the public which causes the development of fashion industries to increase. For example, an individual need to wear formal or proper wear to job interview or working place. This is to show respect and represent the identity of a company.

Latent function of fashion is can increase self-confident of a person. An individual will feel more confident through their attire. For example, a model must be very confident to their own fashion when modelling. In addition, fashion also can increase our extra knowledge which can be related to some job occupation such as a fashion designer. Furthermore, fashion also can increase the understanding of society in term of a person attitude or behaviour.

Dysfunction of fashion are waste money and waste time. The fashion industries are developing widely because the changes of high technology. Fashion also have become a large market where people make it as a type of business such as online shopping or retailer shop. Fashion is also a trend addiction which causes people to waste their time and money in trying different of fashion style such as classic, chic, exotic, sexy, glamorous, hip hop and others.
