• Describe a situation of public interest in which critical and/or creative thought could have been used for a better outcome. Describe why it is important to think critically and creatively in similar situations.

A situation of public interest in which critical thinking could have been used for a better outcome is the costa Concordia tragedy since critical and creative thought could have been used for a better outcome because all the security maneuvers were not used as far as the captain was concerned, safety drills are always performed before the ship leaves port but in this case it did not happened. The captain was too busy to oversee that the ship was going to hit a underground rock and decided that he was not going to go down with the ship and only take care of himself, this tragedy could have been prevented if the critical thinking process was used first by developing ideas that were unique and useful while producing and trying the essential of his own duties and efforts to save the people aboard and prevent the loss of twelve people inside the cruise liner.

• Identify three hindrances to the critical thinking process. Determine methods for overcoming these hindrances. Identify a time in which you experienced a hindrance in critical thinking. Describe a method you could use to overcome the hindrances.

Critical thinking is described as the process of conceptualizing and analyzing information that is gathered from observation or experience, but like all process it has its limitations. A major obstacle in critical thinking is the lack of clear goals and objectives because it limits your plans of action, but once you have a complete sense of what you want your head starts to create ideas that make you solve whatever problem you have. Another hindrance in critical thinking is the fear of failure, because it distracts your mind and holds you back in ideas that you might have, so by overcoming this fears your head will create solutions and
