Workplace plans, HR strategies and business strategies basically mirror each other. They all play a very important role in the goals of the company and the direction to which it is headed. They focus on the long-term and short-term goals of the company as well as the needs of the company. There must be a consistency in all of them in order to be effective.

The HR strategy focuses more on the employee side of the plan. It is important to ensure that there are quality people in place. Employees that are well trained, highly skilled and highly motivated. Some of the areas that are key to the success of this plan would include:

• Competitive pay

• Training

• Benefits

• Opportunity

With the proper staff in place, a company is apt to achieve its goals much easier and at a much faster pace.

To define the direction of your business, you would develop a business strategy. The business strategy along with the HR strategy is crucial for the growth of the company. Whereas the HR strategy is obviously implemented by the HR department, the business strategy is developed by management. The goal is to determine what the company wishes to accomplish. Then analyzing those goals and then integrating and implementing them. Assessing the market is an integral part of this process. During this process, it is important to reach out to all levels within the company in order to incorporate the needs and daily requirements of all departments. It is important for the team that is working on the business strategies to work hand-in-hand with HR so that there is an understanding of the staffing requirements and needs vital to the implementation of the workplace plan.
