Whole Foods Job Evaluation

Whole Foods is a supermarket has several different positions that it needs to evaluate. This paper will address the recommended titles and levels to be associated with this group of positions. This will help the company determine what and how to pay its associates. It will also help the associates understand what to expect when working at Whole Foods and what it takes to do a good job at Whole Foods. This will also help the company determine career paths for high potential individuals.

In creating the job structure, each job needs to be evaluated to see where it falls in the organization. The analysis and the job structures are as follows:

Job A This job requires the employee to provide good quality customer service right from taking orders to delivering them. The job requires some deli experience from the operational point of view. It also involves following the supervisors order and performing them in a timely fashion. Customer Service/Deli

Job B The major responsibility is assisting the customers in payment maintenance of payments received at the cash register. The major requirement for this person is to have excellent communication and customer service skills besides knowing how to use the system and process payments. Customer Service/Cashier

Job C This is the prepared food manager who reports to the store manager. Their major responsibility is to oversee the activities of the Deli worker and checks and balances of operational expenses. Prepared Food Manager

Job D This job as the prepared food supervisor or the shift supervisor is to assist the Food Manager in day to day operations. Their task is to supervise the team members and report any violations of the standard protocol that is not followed. Prepared Food/Shift Supervisor

Job E This job is the utility worker or the dish washer whose major responsibility is to maintain cleanliness in the store. The task includes washing of the utensils and dishes. This job ensures that health conditions and safety prevails in the store and the workplace.

Utility Worker/Dishwasher

Job F This role of the store supervisor responsibility is to organize the shelves and keep them stocked. This also includes replenishing items that have been sold. Stock Supervisor

Job G The role of this job is to oversee the operations of the entire store. This includes budget, inventory and hiring decisions. Store Manager

Job H This role is to look after the store team leaders and assist. Their job is to rotate among the various stores and oversee the operations within each. The major task is to evaluate employee performance and customer satisfaction levels and compare year over year.
