The Justice System - the Three Components of the Justice System

The components of the criminal justice system which are the police, the court system and the correctional system agencies, they will be defined by two examples, for each of the components, the goals for the criminals justice system are to enforce the law, and maintain public order to protect individuals from in justice and especially when it comes from the hands of the criminal justice system.

THE THREE COMPONENTS OF THE JUSTICE SYSTEM

Law and order depicts the law enforcement of the criminal justice system, the show is filmed in New York City and is realistic, this T.V show does look into justice and crime from both perspectives, the first half an hour of the series is about detectives who investigate the crimes, solve and apprehend the criminal and this is done under supervision of their lieutenant, with this show it would also fall underneath the second component of the criminal justice system which would be the courts, because the second half of the show turns to the courts where the CADA and EADA try to work with a difficult justice system to be able to prosecute the accused. Though cases can be simple and investigations can be challenging, prosecutions can also be complicated when it come to plea bargaining to get a guilty plea, it can be a hard process in determining guilt and innocence, lives do often and will hang in the balance .

This show can give positive and negative images when it comes to criminal justice professionals, the show solves the and catches the criminals 99.9 % of the time which is positive but also negative, because sometimes it takes months and even years to gather evidence to solve a crime and sometimes they are not ever solved. The show is fair when it comes to representing criminal justice, the chow is about solving crime and putting criminals behind bars and that is what they do.

The Closer also depicts the police of the criminal justice system, the show is about a savvy deputy police chief who Los Angele’s killers behind bars, this police chief uses different techniques to get confessions to close her cases. This show is more negative when it comes to portraying the criminal justice system, these interrogations techniques are false, and would never happen in real life, if they did the system would sure be saving allot of time and money, representation is a little unfair is shows how busy she is doing her job, she barely see’s her family and she works hard to solve her cases. Law and Order: Special Victims Unit is a show that depicts the courts of the criminal justice system, which the ADA for Law and Order SVU Casey Novak, does everything to get justice for each victim, even though sometimes it’s difficult and she needs more evidence to pursue with the court, and sometimes they are the worst cases that she has to let go of.
