My Life After Death

David H. Ong

On April 29, 1983, I got into the back seat of a drunk driver's car. I ended up going through the windshield, and breaking my head in 15 places. To save my life, the doctors had to perform brain surgery on me. I was not supposed to live. Through immense hard work, determination, the power of prayer, 5 months of rehab, and more pain than you can imagine, I came back. However, I will never be the man that I once was.

I am a public speaker, have written a book, and have been on the radio. I came back to share my story with others, hopefully to save lives. Never drive with a drunk driver. I have no problem taking my friend's keys if he has had one too many. I feel I may be saving his life. If this paper touches you, than I have done my job.

He will not have a D.U.I. on his license, he will not have wrecked his car, he will not be in the hospital, and he will not have hurt an innocent bystander.
