Write a report in which you identify some of the characteristics of group work and suggest how virtual collaborations may facilitate the group work process. Illustrate your answer with examples.

        Group work is part of an integrated element especially in industrial and corporate areas. It is part of organizational units and technology has become a part of that group.(2004) This is where things become quite interesting, with technology being embedded into modern society, we have learned to make our way around obstacles in order to accomplish various goals. Hence, virtual teamwork. You are able to share experiences, education, development of various products and more. It has basically become an essential part of working.

        So how can you utilize virtual teamwork? Simply, by allowing people to feel more as if they are in control in their comfort zone. Technology allows us to focus on individual ideas as well as group ideas in order to get a better understanding of how the mediated teamwork plays out.  Although virtual teamwork allows for flexibility as well as equality more than face to face communication and can make someone feel left out or isolated and takes away the persons individual feeling of individuality.

        Since virtual teamwork is an advantageous way to incorporate completing goals with people working from various locations. No one has to wait till everyone arrives to begin discussing the project. They are able to work together at any time, whether it is day or night. This basically destroys the barriers of time and space and allows various members to utilize all expertise of various organizations. Team members will be able to contact each other through groupware, computer, cell phones, e-mail and various other ways in order to telecommunicate.

        The characteristics of various group activities whether it be in the work place or in a variety of different situations, are important in order to have an effective group. Many will notice as a group activity takes place there is a unity when it comes to purpose of said activity, as well

as having goals that have been set and are clear to understand(2014). The group will have small goals that will lead into a bigger goal in order to reach a great achievement. When groups create an idea such as what type of design should be used in order to create a new and updated look of an outdated building, they are able to discuss it in a manner in which everyone is heard and understood.
