Introduction

There are 4 important resources with respect to company viz. man, material, machine and money. The term HRM represents human resource management. This helps in achieving the goals of organization. The role of HR is recruitment, selection, manpower planning, payment and incentives decisions, planning of organizational policies, maintaining healthy environment, look after the conflicts and grievances etc. Role of HR manager is to make employee and company both satisfied and profitable. HR interview plays an important role in selection process.

Que 1 & 2 )  Prepare a list of 10 questions to be asked in HR interview round for the job profile of management trainee. Mention appropriate answer as per your understanding (not exceeding 1 paragraph of 5/7 lines) for the above mentioned questions.

  1. What are your strengths and weaknesses as management trainee?
  • I am patient, optimistic, self motivated, trustworthy and a good team player. Talking about my weakness, I work for longer time until I finish my work and also I am a sensitive person.

  1. Sometimes you would have to work late hours, even on Sundays. Will you be able to do that?
  • Frankly speaking, I am the person who would like to spend weekends with family and friends. But if at any point of time my presence is required by my company then I would definitely work. I believe that if we want to be successful then we should be honest and dedicated in our work.
  1. Where do you see yourself  5 years from now?
  • After five years I see myself as an efficient, skillful and reliable employee at a responsible position in the company where I would use my knowledge and experience in development of the company.
  1. Describe your ideal company, location and job?
  • The ideal company for me is the company which provides me job security, encourage innovative ideas and appraise my efforts. The ideal location is where environment will be healthy and people will be cooperative. And the ideal job for me is which will give me job satisfaction.
  1. How would you be an asset for our company?
  • As the time will pass, value of the asset will decrease. I will be like a long term investment of the company who will increase the value with my skills, capability, and experience. And as we know that good investment always gives good output.
  1. If you are hired then how long would you expect to work for us?
  • I would work for this company as long as I have job satisfaction, scope for using my ideas and creativity, respect and healthy environment.
  1. Why should we hire you? (fresher)
  • I can prove myself with help of my knowledge and skills. As a beginner I need a platform, and I think your company is right place to explore my skill. Given one chance I will put my efforts in progress of company.
  1. Why do you wish to work in our company?
  • Your company is a reputed firm which would provide me a strong platform to show and improve my skills. Getting placed in your company is like entering the world full of opportunities. Also I wish to work with a firm which where I would not think of changing job due to saturation in work type.
  1. What is your expectation about salary?
  • I hope that my salary would be according to the post value and standards of the company. Salary should be equivalent to my knowledge and work.
  1. What are your goals?
  • My short term goal is to get this job. And my long term goal is to see this company at number one position and travel the success way

Que 3) Make a checklist of preparations to be done by interviewee before the interview.

  1. We should assess our strengths and weaknesses and have justification for each point. And we should be able to compare them with  the job profile
  2. We should decide our short term as well as long term goals.
  3. We should be aware of our likes and dislikes so that we should at least like what we will be doing.
  4. Collect information about the company we are going to apply for.
  5. Also know about its competitors.
  6. Ensure whether the formal wear is clean and complete.
  7. We should take care of our complete appearance including clothes, shoes, nails and hair.
  8. Carry resume with extra copies and also the required documents.
  9. Arrive at least 30 minutes before the interview.
  10. Be confident, relaxed and well prepared for the interview.
  11. Carry a water bottle and have food before interview.
