Funny how cricket is being treated in my country, one side it is totally opposed by the people that our cricketers are involved in different activities that are not in the spirit of the game which eventually leads you to the murphy's law that if you gona think something will go wrong, then it will go wrong. That's what i believed happened in the spot fixing saga. On the other side, however, our whole nation is so much obsessed with cricket that they can't even blink their eyes while watching a close Pakistani match. I being a diehard spectator of cricket believe that we are dead crazy about cricket and we cannot stand whatever bad happen to the Pakistan cricket team whether the players entangle themselves in a controversy due to personal issues or through a calculated conspiracy by the cricketing world. One thing is for sure that we as a nation are united whenever there is an important cricket match going on around and we are ready to accept the defeat if the team gives a fight till the last ball and make every effort to win the game. I know it seems like a joke but that has happened before one of the game i remember is the game between India and Pakistan at Karachi where India set a colossal target of 350 and Pakistan had to bat out of their skins in order to win which they almost did with Inzi making a great century and in the end Moin tried to hit a six of the last ball but unfortunately caught by the fielder and the people readily accepted the defeat and in fact praised the players on giving up a fight.

The cricket world cup 2011 is being played in the subcontinent without having Pakistan as the host country due to the severe political and law & order situation in the country. In fact the regulatory body of cricket has out thrown Pakistan without even mentioning them as the host during the event. I believe that there are many people with "Darrell Hair" kind of mind set which is damaging the image of Pakistan cricket. The only method to silence all the critics is to perform and perform well.

Ongoing into this world cup the cricket team was not rated amongst the top teams who have the ability to win this world cup but after the two matches played so far with a huge defeat to Srilanka last Saturday, the morale of the whole nation has gone up to the sky and we are starting to believe that we can do it.

Before the start of the second match of Pakistan vs. Srilanka, it was a 60 40 bet in favor of the Lankans. Having won the toss was a sigh of a relieve to all of us as we all know that the cricket team is not a good chasers of the targets so it was good to post some target and then use the powerful bowling line to cut through the opposition. The way Younis and Misbah batted in the innings, i expected them to post the target of 300 plus which may help psychologically nevertheless, 277 was also a tough task but the classy players in the line
