The Innocent Lives of Syrian Refugees -Argumentative Essay

March 25th, 2011 was the awakening of a catastrophic crisis that began as a peaceful protest but erupted into a conflict which killed more than 100, 000 people in the country of Syria located in the Middle East. President Bashar-Al-Assad, a British trained doctor had turned out to become one of the many harsh dictators of Syria. On April 11, 2011, Bashar had sent tanks that were occupied by trained men into the cities of Syria to attack the people who went against Bashar-Al-Assad’s presidency. Following the attacks, Obama had put up an executive order against Assad in hopes to end his use of violence on the people of Syria and transition to a Democratic leader that would protect the rights of the citizens.  Since the outbreak of the Syrian catastrophe many Syrians have faced death and violence in which many of them are young innocent children who are eager to seek refuge in neighboring countries. A refugee is an individual who is forced to leave their homeland and into a foreign country in hopes to escape danger and persecution. The United States ought to admit Syrian emigrants who have been screened and scrutinized appropriately because the U.S. must not repeat the disgraceful faults of their past, Syrian refugees will positively influence American economy, there has been no accurate indication that these refugees are terrorists, and lastly it’s our commitment as humans to protect those that are victims of extremism.

United States has taken in action several shameful and barbaric decisions in previous history that must not be repeated. During World War ll America had rejected Jew refugees afraid that Nazi spies would come along with them.  According to Huffington Post, “During World War II, the U.S. turned away Jews due to security concerns. We sent shiploads back to the camps because we were scared that Nazi spies could hide in their midst”(6 Reason to Welcome Syrian Refugees. David Bier.1) this brings us back to similar conditions occurring right now between Syria and America. If Americans had allowed Jews to come in U.S. during World War ll than maybe not so many Jews would have dies during the holocaust, but due to America’s forwardness many individual faced brutal death. America must deal with the threats they encounter rather than rejecting the responsibilities that they have to fulfill. America is repeating what they had done decades ago but now dealing with Syrians who are encountering a comparable holocaust under Bashar- Al –Assad’s brutal dictatorship. Syrians are being rejected as they have a minor probability of facing as a threat. America is sending back Syrian Refugees right into the deaths they hoped to escape. Instead of accepting Syrian refugees we are making the similar blunder we have made in the past. However, some argue that with the use of fake passports terrorist might be able to enter the United States. According to Fox News, “The sheer volume of fake passports flooding the markets as refugees-or terrorists posing as refugees-pour into Europe has investigators on edge.” (Malia Zimmerman.1) This goes to show that investigators are afraid that the increase in fake passports will make it hard to allow refugees in as terrorist will be able to enter the Unites States posed as refugees. Comparable to World War ll, America was afraid that Nazi soldiers will come in the U.S. posed as Jew refugees which prevented them to allow refugees to stay. Although this may be true, according to the Washington Post, “All the identified assailants are so far citizens of European Union countries” (Tharoor 2). This reveals that all the identified Paris assailants became radicalized while living in the European Union and were not known to be Syrian refugees. This proves that we must not repeat our mistakes of our barbaric action of sending back Jews to their deaths. Syrian refugees have no connections with terrorists which convey that we should admit refugees in the Unites States.
