Argumentative Essay Is Homework Helpful or Harmful

It has been a common saying for students throw out the ages. "Why do we have to do homework?" or "I hate homework". I believe that homework can be helpful but most of the time it's harmful. For student athletes or any student who enjoys after school activities homework hurts probably the most. Homework can limit the about of sleep a student needs. The assignments also takes away time which could be spend on doing more productive activities and cause unnecessary stress.

When a student falls a sleep in class he or she is usually disciplined for it. But with massive amounts of work to do the night before how can a teacher get mad? As young adults we need to do things outside of a book. With the amounts of homework giving with only having about four to five hours to mix it all together we will be limited on our sleep. Little sleep can cause heatlh problems such as gaining weight and acne. Is finding a problems X worth becoming obese or having acne scars on our faces?

Our teachers want us to read of course. I agree with them but with a few hours to read and some students being slow readers like myself it makes things a little difficult. Let's say you have basketball practice right after school to around six then you want to rest for an hour or so now and chat with a friend. With those activities your only left with three hours to write one essay, twenty math problems, two science work sheets, and a work sheet for history. Three hours is not enough time to do all of that and get to bed on time.

Any student athlete knows that on game day the homework assignments giving will probably not be done or will not be done or the answers will be wrong. It's hard to play a game then have to rush home only to write and essay on what animal you would be for a day and then what do you do if you can't think of an animal and when you do you don't know anything about that creature.
