Berlin Buskers Break Record
In Berlin this weekend the Berlin Buskers broke the record for the longest continuous concert in history. The Berlin Buskers are a folk group and they started playing at ten one morning and finished at ten the next morning. They took breaks every four hours, but still played for a whole day without sleep. This story really spoke to me because the music today is basically beats and there is not the same thought process put into it as there was a decade ago. Concerts today are also not as good as there were back then; they only last a few hours so I have huge respect for a concert that lasted twenty four hours. I have always liked German music and have never been able to understand it before; through the help of German class I now understand many parts of my favorite songs.
I really enjoyed listening to certain parts of the concert, the mixture of German and folk music was, not to be cliché, but music to my ears. I hope that my German knowledge will continue to grow and I will be able to understand more and more of the songs I love.
