What is smartphone? As we know smartphone was a version of mobile phone that was upgraded. The different between smartphone and mobile phone was their functions. For example, smartphone didn’t have keypad and it has the functions of internet. What are the advantages of bringing mobile phone to school? It could provide a lot of function, it also an effective and reliable tools and features. Students also can use it while emergency situation and it can help them keep in touch with their parents.

Technology plays an important role in twenty first century. Modern advancements such as the invention of smartphones have made life much more easy and convenient. Smartphones are creating convenience for students that can be functional in many places and purpose such as researching and communicating. Smartphones can substitute notebook when students go for class without any notebook or tablets. The things that we previously had to do on the computer can now be done in the palm of our hand. Thus, the basic smartphones now come with at least short message service (SMS) and the basic features that included such as internet access, web browser, applicable for everyone and portable. Although smartphones create convenience, parents have the responsibility to instruct children to use smartphones in the right way. Smartphones are not phones just for gaming or social networking. With the built-in Internet capabilities, most of the students use smartphones to communicate and keep in touch with friends and family through Facebook messenger, WhatsApp and WeChat because it is free and just need network or 3G Data to access. Not only can that, with the internet access, students always access internet or Wi-Fi to search any information that they want everywhere.

Apart from that, allowing smartphone in school can help students in their study. Smartphone are most useful, effective and reliable tools and features. They have a camera, a notebook, an internet connection, a calculator and so on. Using a smartphone in school can certainly help student when doing homework and research. For example, a camera equipped phone can be used to take picture that related to school projects or assignment. This has proven that allowing smartphone in school is definitely an advantage and very useful in academic. Other than that, other tools such as calculator can be used in Mathematics lesson when the students forgot to bring their scientific calculator. For those who using the calculator function in smartphone, it is actually an advantage for them rather than they do nothing in Mathematics lesson. Thus, students can get benefits from smartphone if they use for good purposes. Besides, students can google anything on the spot when lecturer gave some task to them. For instances, they can use the internet connection to find information of the task given. Therefore, academic help is an advantage of allowing smartphone in school that brings more benefits than harm especially to students in school.
